This group of 3 spiral galaxies in the constellation Leo consists of
M65 (bottom left), M66 (top left) and NGC 3628 (right), which are 22,
36 and 35 million light years away from the sun. The 2 galaxies on the
left interacted with each other about 800 million years ago. The
nebulous area top right to NGC 3628 is part of its long tidal trail. |
